Project Manager - Programmes

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager - Programmes to work with management and staff to lead and coordinate projects within the credit union, employing project management methodologies to facilitate the timely completion of projects.

Duties:

  • Work with the Project Sponsor and other stakeholders to bring the project from the idea stage to completion.
  • Effectively manage projects through the phases of Initiation, Planning, Executing, Monitoring and Controlling, and Closing, while facilitating customer acceptance.
  • Develop detailed project management & execution plans and implements them.
  • Prepare and maintain project budgets. Ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope of project.
  • Lead successful project delivery within agreed upon scope, schedule, quality, budget, and resources.
  • Partner closely with business leaders and external project managers/leads to align business requirements with technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with Project Sponsor and other stakeholders to ensure buy-in, coordination, and commitment.
  • Identify needed resources, assign individual responsibilities and tasks, and notify appropriate management if resource constraints will impact the project timeline.
  • Establish necessary internal relationships across the credit union to ensure that the appropriate parties are involved in project activities and project related communications.
  • Produce project status reports and communicate hurdles/roadblocks to achieving project milestones to the project team, different levels of management and the board as applicable.
  • Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate stakeholders as needed—escalating issues as necessary based on project work plans
  • Run regular project status meetings to clearly prioritize tasks for teams, ensuring all project health metrics and key performance indicators are tracked accurately.
  • Execute on communications plan by consulting with the sponsor and stakeholders to review progress as part of the specified monitoring and controlling functions
  • Leads the testing of processes or systems where necessary to determine the level of effectiveness
  • Work closely with vendors to ensure that support and work is performed accurately and in a timely manner based on the scope and requirements of the project.

 

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:

  • PMP Certification or comparable formalized project management experience applying PMI or industry standards required.
  • A minimum of five years of project management or related experience preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree - Business or related field
  • Training and experience in a technical field highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing technical or other IT-related projects strongly preferred.
  • Good knowledge of analytical and process documentation tools such as Visio and other data visualization tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of Agile techniques and artifacts (such as definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement) preferred.
