- Estimates and establishes cost parameters and budgets for purchases.
- Creates and maintains good relationships with vendors/suppliers.
- Maintains accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
- Reviews and analyzes all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options.
- Develops plans for purchasing equipment, services and supplies.
- Negotiates the best deal for pricing and supply contracts in accordance with the company’s procurement policy.
- Ensures that the products and supplies are high quality and in line with stakeholder requirements.
- Creates and maintains inventory of all incoming and current supplies.
- Maintains and updates list of suppliers and their qualifications, delivery times, and potential future development.
- Works with team members to complete duties as needed.
- Prepares monthly reports detailing inventory on hand and variance in prices relative to quotations and contracts.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
- Enrolled in a professional procurement or logistics designation.
- Five (5) years’ previous experience as procurement officer or related position.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management systems.
- Analytical and a problem-solver.
- Excellent negotiator.
- Knowledge of administering contracts.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
- Accurate and precise attention to detail.
- Ability to work well with management and staff at all levels.
- Goal-oriented, organized team player.
- Normal conditions for a working environment with occasional exposure to the external environment.
- May be required to work occasionally on weekends and after hours.
- Travel may be required.
