About Legacy
Legacy Foundation Inc. was incorporated as a non-profit company on October 4, 2011 under the Companies Act of Barbados.

History
The idea of setting up a foundation to facilitate charitable giving by members was first presented at the credit union’s 2009 annual general meeting.

The Foundation will enable members to pool their charitable donations and help to leave a lasting, positive impression on Barbados while at the same time be able to benefit from the associated tax incentive.

Every year since 2009, members have set aside funds for the Foundation by way of appropriations.

Activities
Legacy Foundation Inc. will contribute to or create initiatives and projects which promote wellness and seek to sustain health and productivity within the credit union movement and Barbados in general.

Initiatives for consideration can be conceptualized internally or be submitted by proposal from the general membership or public.

Consideration of submissions and decision making in relation to funding will be the responsibility of the Board of Directors.
